Maria Rita Geusa was born in Mesagne (BR) on May 22, 1950. She graduated from the University of Bari in Foreign Languages and Literatures, specializing in English and French. She worked at the National Institute of Nuclear Physics in Bari. Retired since 2010, she now lives in Giovinazzo (BA). 

Alongside writing, it is especially the love and joy of her two grandchildren that fill her days. Poetry accompanies her life, preserving her affections, memories, places, and moments of solitude.
