Description

This book puts into written word a part of the story of psychoanalysis in the last three decades of the Italian twentieth century. A few years have passed, and those events seem to have been relegated to the forgotten drawer of the twentieth century, but at that time ideas and projects, proposals and accelerations were at play, which have changed and shattered, failing to provide continuity to what remained only residual of psychoanalysis: its secularism, as claimed by Freud in 1926 in Laienanalyse. Now we are left to become historians, chroniclers. With this chronicle, we do not intend to fix history and tie it to an era that has already passed, but we aim to allow the reopening of a research discourse for a psychoanalysis of the new millennium. This is an essential act to face our contemporaneity without the prejudices of a reading that treats the malaise of being only as a pathological element of the individual's life. Psychoanalysis is in its history, in the constant need to reinvent its position and its clinic. The SpazioZero Commissions addressed topics that are still very current and remain open, such as the training of the analyst, the nomination, and their position in care. Some solutions that have occurred so far have overlooked many contributions from those protagonists of the past that can certainly and rightfully be rediscovered. Doing so could reopen decidedly formative theoretical issues, while forgetting them will certainly not be the solution to things. Our contemporaneity, in its increasingly overwhelming paths, calls us to rediscover the sense of the experience of psychoanalysis, as Lacan reminded us: If psychoanalysis can become a science – since it is not yet – and if it must not degenerate in its technique and perhaps it is already a done deal – we must rediscover the sense of its experience.
