Principles of Psychotherapy for Psychosis
In this book, the author, with thirty years of clinical experience in treating psychosis, describes and defines the two main pillars that support and enable the psychotherapy of psychosis: madness understood as a defense to survive when faced with inhumane experiences, and treatment based on transference, where words are the cement of the therapeutic relationship and the foundation of any possible treatment.
A map is necessary to converse with madness, to know when to speak and when to remain silent, to conduct psychotherapy with patients so challenging that it is difficult to know how to relate to them and exchange a few words. The idea for this book stems from hospital work practice, combined with the requests of trainees and colleagues in need of some principles to guide daily practice in the trenches of madness. However, these are not principles for the psychotherapy of psychosis, but rather principles for a psychotherapy of psychosis. A psychotherapy, among others, but based on extensive experience with severely disturbed patients.
Madness is human, even too human, and human beings are not prepared to survive in any circumstance and situation; this is particularly true for some humans who, for various reasons, have found themselves halfway, exposed to the elements, stripped and vulnerable.

È uno dei fondatori de La Otra psiquiatría e uno dei tre Alienistas del Pisuerga, con i quali ha editato otto volumi di classici della psicopatologia.
