An evolutionary distortion of the developing mind or its inescapable trait? Or an inescapable preface to social communication? The lie as an expression of a creative or emotionally dissonant mind? The different and surprising paths of the mind 'that pretends' and its possible intentions are reflections that, naturally and in a fluent language, traverse and intertwine on the psychological and mental couplet truth–lie or truth–deception. In the second part, the radical nature of this attitude pertaining to the human mind is emphasized, receiving in return an "anthropological cipher" in the ambiguities and discrepancies emerging from the human being as animal symbolicum. Beyond a sociological reading oriented in a deconstructionist sense, deceitful falsification traverses a plethora of aspects, from philosophy to anthropology, from science to epistemology, thus nourishing any curiosity in the peculiar field and opening up to a lively and knowledgeable reading.
