Clinical Experience at the Origins of the Pandemic This book gathers our clinical and institutional, but also personal, experience as psychologists in a public service during the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, in order to document the particular clinical moments experienced in a short and absolutely exceptional period of time. We have attempted to bring to light events where the written word can provide the necessary support to draw strength and energy to move forward, despite the sad, tragic, and unforeseen situation, filled with uncertainty, confusion, and collective anguish, that affected our community. We clarify that in the cases presented, sensitive data and references that could identify places, people, and personal events have been omitted. We hope that the volume can evoke suggestions and insights to delve deeper into what happened during this time, inviting a broader reading of our contemporary era that has undergone, in Lombardy and particularly in the province of Bergamo, painful events that have perhaps forever changed our way of facing death. However, there is an inherent message of hope. The virus has strongly impacted our daily lives by opening new spaces for dialogue, where tolerance, the ability to listen, and sharing, although modulated by suffering, seem to have created and continue to create, in the adventure of every day, opportunities for rebirth.
