Experiences of Young Therapists
When a clinical psychologist or psychiatrist, undergoing psychoanalytic-oriented psychotherapy training or at the end of this educational process, faces a patient, they must confront the unknown, what has not yet been represented and is instead acted out in various ways. The patient forces the young therapist to engage with this unknown and to question whether the choice of specialization school and the structure of their own personality (with specific defense mechanisms) are suitable for creating evolutionary transformations in the intrapsychic and interpsychic world of the bipersonal field that inhabits the psychotherapy room. The book gathers the clinical experiences of former students who have just graduated or have been practicing as analysts for a few years after specializing in listening to the unconscious of their patients and themselves. In recent years, the focus has increasingly been on the therapist's role in determining what happens in the patient's mind during sessions; previously, there was the monopersonal psychology of the patient, explored by the analyzed mind of the analyst, today it is the therapist's mind that is examined by supervisors to understand how it influences the psychoanalytic process of the analysand. This writing aims to provide the vivid bipersonal experience of what occurs between patient and analyst at the beginning of the profession; the focus is on what makes us profoundly human, distinguishing the interest of clinical psychologists and psychiatrists, willing to undergo years of personal analysis to become "more seasoned" in their division between conscious and unconscious, in order to promote greater integration of their own Ego and subsequently the Ego of their patients.

Docente presso la Scuola di Psicoterapia del Minotauro e presso la Scuola di Psicoterapia SPP di Milano. Opera privatamente come psicoterapeuta e psicologo clinico a Milano e a Crema. In seno al Centro Clinico della Fondazione Minotauro coordina le sezioni del giovane adulto e dell’adulto. Ha svolto attività di docenza presso l’Università di Milano-Bicocca, di formazione, consulenza e supervisione in vari ambiti (Comune di Crema, Istituti Scolastici Milanesi, Ospedale di Vimercate, Società Quadri-Nord, Strutture comunitarie terapeutiche). Ha pubblicato diversi libri e articoli di psicoanalisi e psicologia clinica.
